Near Field Communication (NFC) is a short-range wireless connectivity technology standard designed for intuitive, simple and safe communication between electronic devices. NFC communication automatically starts without any interaction or prior configuration when two devices are bringing close together. It holds the promise of bringing true mobility to consumer electronics in a comfortable way since the devices can "hand-shake" (talk to each other) only when brought literally into touching distance. Its intuitive operation makes it particularly easy for normal people to use, while its built-in security makes it ideal for secure data storage, payment and financial applications.

NFC for Banking & other financial inclusions

It provides banking services at an affordable cost to vast section of disadvantaged and low income groups by making use of NFC technology. The main scope of this project was to come out from the present scenario of banking confined to urban areas by putting up ATM like facility in rural areas.

By making use of NFC and biometric technology, rural people are given facilities to transact money from small outlets of service providers. The services provided are:

This is a perfect solution for people who are crazy about music. It is swapping music for value points.

NFC credit card for rural people

This is implemented in rural villages that will let people to pay for items wirelessly through contactless smart cards.                                                                                                 

NFC in Microfinance institutions

This is all about providing loans and savings facilities to people.

NFC in Transportation

This is another application of NFC called Fare Collection System in buses which is  going to be launched soon. Here Bus commuters will be able to use their NFC-enabled smart cards to pay for their travel
